Clinical History
55 years old lady diagnosed with right breast carcinoma in November 1995. Multiple bone metastases. Currently on Capecitabine. PET/CT to assess bone metastases.
Findings
The bone scan demonstrates areas of increased tracer concentration T5-T7, T9, T12, L1-L4, vertebrae, both ilia, left superior pubic ramus, scapulae (bone marked on the left side), both humeral heads, right 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th ribs, left 5th rib and manubrium. A focal area of increased concentration is also present in the right temporal region and was not visualized in the previous FDG PET-CT scan. Most of these lesions demonstrate sclerotic changes on the correlative CT images.
The sclerotic lesion with negligible uptake in the left frontal region is more in keeping with treated disease.
Arthritic/degenerative changes are present in the knees and ankles.
Clinical Impression
Multiple bone metastases are still present with a new lesion in the skull vault.
